Located beyond Germantown, Clarksburg marks the intersection of the main road between Georgetown, Frederick and an old Seneca trail. The community takes its name from John Clarke, a prominent Native American Trader from the early 1700s, and has a rich history. The town hosted General Braddock's army during the French and Indian War and played an integral role in the American Revolution by serving as a meeting place for the Sons of Liberty. The area blossomed throughout the 19th and 20th centuries and is now a population center and suburban bedroom community.

Clarksburg is a small suburban enclave of townhomes and single-family residences. The community is centrally located to several parks, such as Little Bennet Regional Park and Black Hill Regional Park. Germantown is a ten-minute drive.
